"I am running for school board as my specific voice is needed to improve district accountability, restore student discipline, and bring solid doctrine to Seminole County public schools. The three major components of schools: parents, teachers, and students, will benefit tremendously from my accomplishment of this endeavor. With my extensive experience and background in the school system and my passion for students, I am dedicated to making Seminole County schools once again a place where not only academics flourish but also a place where character is built. Students will thus enter the world better equipped to succeed in their prospective careers but more than that, they will be productive citizens who lead and serve their communities!"
LIST OF ISSUES
EDUCATION As a candidate for the Seminole School Board, I am committed to improving the quality of education in our schools. I believe that every student deserves a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. I would also like to a centrally located vocational center for students who want to learn a much needed trade!
ACCOUNTABILITY I believe that the school board must be accountable to parents, students, and taxpayers. As a member of the school board, I will work to ensure that our schools are transparent, efficient, and effective in meeting the needs of our community. But even as important, I will ensure students are held accountable for their actions both in and out of the classroom.
DISCIPLINE As a father, SRD, coach, and former teacher, I understand the importance of discipline in schools. I believe that students must have a safe and orderly environment in order to learn and succeed. As a member of the school board, I will work to nurture positive behavior and as well as solid correction in our schools. We will return to a place of first time obedience with a better tiered system of consequences.
solid DOCTRINE I believe that our schools must be grounded in solid doctrine and principles. As a member of the school board, I will work to ensure that our curriculum is based on the fundamental principles of truth, justice, and morality. I will also move the Code of Conduct back to a place where actions are dealt with in a way that will make schools safer.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT I believe that our schools must be closely connected to the community they serve. As a member of the school board, I will work to promote greater community involvement in our schools, including parent and community engagement, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations. I will create an Apprenticeship Initiative with the assistance of local businesses many of whom are SCPS graduates in order to have students begin certification and licensing in a skilled trade.
STUDENT SUCCESS As a member of the school board, my top priority will always be the success of our students. I believe that every student can succeed, and I am committed to providing them with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential. My passion and desire is especially for those at the bottom of the educational system to be raised up to a place where dreams and visions are created and reestablished!
